Zoalene is a nitrobenzamide compound, an anticoccidial drug that has both preventive and therapeutic effects. It is effective for many kinds of Eimeria in chickens, especially for poisoning Eimeria and Eimeria tenella. It mainly inhibits the first generation of schizonts, the peak period of action is in the schizont proliferation stage of the second asexual reproduction stage of coccidia (ie, the third day after infection), and it also has an inhibitory effect on sporulation of oocysts. Coccidia can develop resistance to this product, but the rate of production is slower, which does not affect the body’s immunity to coccidia. The amount of treatment has no obvious adverse effects on chicken development and egg production. However, long-term use of Zoalene at high concentration will cause drug residues and potentially harm human health. This product is not only used for prevention, but also for treatment. The application of this product has no adverse effect on the growth, development and hatching rate of eggs. This product has a good control effect on rabbit coccidiosis. .
Precautions:
1. The size of Zoalene powder particles is the main factor affecting the anticoccidial effect, and it should be a very fine powder in clinical application.
2. This medicine often causes recurrence of coccidiosis 5 to 6 days after drug withdrawal, so continuous medication is required.
3. Broilers have a drug withdrawal period of 3 days.
4. When the amount added in the feed exceeds 250 mg/kg, if fed continuously for more than 15 days, it can inhibit the weight gain of the chicks.
5. The laying period of laying hens is prohibited.
